The Snake Cake

Last week Room 10 read the Snake Cake by Pauline Cartwright.  In the story the Queen wanted a different cake for her birthday so she ordered everyone to make her a special cake.  She declared that the person who baked a special cake would be able to come to her party.  But everyone made cakes that she had already had. Then the children from the village came up with a great idea and made a snake cake.  The children laid out some cookies in a long curvy line on paper. They stuck the cookies together with jam. Next they iced the snake.  The Queen said “Wonderful!!”.

We thought the snake cake looked really delicious so we decided to make our own snake cake. It was fun to make and we got icing all over our hands so we got to lick it off our hands. Yummy !!! It tasted as sweet as fruit bursts.
